Full Time Job Summary:
Develops and implements clinical process improvement activities to support achievement of target outcomes.
Minimum Education:
Has completed the basic professional curricula of a school of nursing as approved and verified by a state board of nursing, and holds or is entitled to hold a diploma or degree therefrom. Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred. Licensure, Registration and/or
Certification:
Valid multi-state or State of Oklahoma Registered Nurse License.
Work Experience:
3 - 4 years related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient knowledge of computer applications such as Outlook, Ulticare, ERP, Intranet and Internet. Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access as might be required in the production of reports. Working knowledge of general disease state management processes, bio-psychosocial model, and clinical pathways. Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner. Ability to analyze complex issues and solve them creatively, and strong leadership skills relative to motivating and developing multi-disciplinary teams to be successful. Ability to integrate the analysis of data to discover facts or develop knowledge, concepts or interpretations. Knowledge of general hospital operations and applicable state, federal and accreditation organization regulations. Knowledge of performance improvement techniques and methods. Ability to be detailed oriented as required in the examination of clinical and numerical data.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Collaborates with clinical leadership to develop and implement clinical performance improvement activities. Collaborates with nursing management team in formulating appropriate data review mechanisms and developing appropriate indicators to objectively measure important aspects of nursing care/service. Collects, documents and trends data regarding nursing outcome measures. Reports outcomes to nursing management in a timely manner. Collaborates with nursing management team and staff to develop recommendations for nursing practice based upon outcome monitoring. Facilitates staff nurse participation in the monitoring and evaluation of nursing care in accordance with established professional, regulatory and organizational standards of practice. Serves on interdepartmental committees and represents entity at system level committees as requested. Assists in development and revisions of patient care policies and procedures. Ensures nursing quality improvement activities meet regulatory standards. Conducts, disseminates, and utilizes research to ensure evidence-based nursing. Assists in development and implementation of educational activities to support clinical process improvement. Promotes an environment in which the patient care team can work cooperatively toward performance improvement objectives. Assists in development and revisions of patient care policies and procedures. Supports the organization's mission, vision, values and goals in the daily performance of duties. Meets all hospital-wide and department- specific competencies annually.
Decision Making:
The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.

Coordinates activities of others (does not supervise). Leads others in same work performed (does not supervise). Works directly with patients and/or customers. Works with internal customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff. Works frequently with individuals at Director level or above.
