Sep 16, 2028 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of clinical immunology and flow cytometry. A strong preference will be given to applicants with experience in innovation and clinical assay development. Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. MD applicants must be board certified in Clinical Pathology (AP/CP or CP) and eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania. PhD applicants must have appropriate fellowship or postgraduate training and be board eligible or certified by DMLI(ASCP), certified by ABMLI, or hold other appropriate qualifications for leadership in a high-complexity clinical laboratory. Teaching responsibilities may include training Immunology and Rheumatology clinical fellows, residents, medical and graduate students, and clinical laboratory scientists. Clinical responsibilities may include assisting in oversight of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory, clinical test interpretation and consultation, quality assurance, and development and implementation of new diagnostic assays. The candidate will support testing for primary immunodeficiencies/inborn errors of immunity, immune dysregulation disorders, and other complex immune-mediated conditions. Research or scholarship responsibilities may include translational and collaborative work in clinical immunology, immune dysregulation, functional immune testing, emerging immunotherapies, and innovative laboratory diagnostics. The successful candidate will serve as Assistant Director of the Clinical Immunology Laboratory. Demonstrated expertise in flow cytometry and advanced clinical test development is strongly preferred. Experience with functional immune assays and testing related to immunodeficiencies, emerging immunotherapies or cellular therapies is desirable. The candidate will contribute to the development and expansion of the laboratory's diagnostic portfolio.
