Job Description

General Summary Supervises the admission, outpatient registration, insurance verification, and greeter functions in accordance with Hospital policy and the daily operations of the Off-Site locations. Monitors and supervises the work activity of assigned staff.
Shift Full Time, Days, M-F Duties and Responsibilities Essential Functions:
Ensures that the department functions run efficiently and effectively by overseeing day to day functions, scheduling staff and expediting problems. Reviews hospital admission and outpatient schedules to ensure adequate staffing is available for patient volume. Ensures accurate financial and biographical information has been obtained and properly entered into the appropriate records. Coordinates with medical, nursing and other hospital staff to ensure appropriate registration of patients and compliance with third party payers and other regulations. Reviews department operations to ensure compliance with all regulatory entities. Maintains and fosters effective public relations with patients and the public. May verify all insurance benefits assigned to the organization to determine if insurance coverage meets appropriate standards and corresponds with patients and/or Case Management to ensure correct assignment of benefits. Oversees the reporting process to ensure all outpatient registrations, insurance verifications and inpatient transactions are properly posted. Resolves errors, exceptions and unreconciled items promptly. Plans, conducts and supervises assigned projects. Creates training and educational materials and provides education to hospital departments and/or physician offices.
Common Expectations:
Selects, trains/orients, assigns staff, evaluates performance on a quarterly and annual basis, prepares and/or assists with work schedules, provides training and continuing education of staff and initiates/makes recommendations for personnel actions. Develops, revises and maintains area specific policies and procedures, evaluates and monitors goals and objectives, promotes LDMS standards for process improvement and quality assessments and monitors safety, environmental and infection control standards. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops. Monitors and responds to patient satisfaction and employee opinion surveys. Monitors and responds to the needs of the team leader, provide assistance and direction. Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation. Conducts monthly staff meetings and coordinates Quarterly Hospital Access Meetings. Completes I-Care observations regularly.
Qualifications Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required and Associates Degree Continuation/completion of higher education.
Preferred Work Experience:
2 years Supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, supervisory and computer skills. Knowledge of principles, theories and environment that are key factors to success.
