Summary:
Responsible for performing a variety of duties dependent upon assignment. Position will be assigned based on practice need and will flex between front desk and clinical area based on assessment of daily needs.Front desk coordinator primary functions:
Providing reception, scheduling, patient check-in, patient check-out, telephone service, and other patient-related services.Medical assistant primary functions:
Assist physicians with patient care and handling clerical, environmental and organization tasks.Responsibilities:
General:
Professional and courteous customer relations — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Performs selected clerical, clinical and administrative duties, and assists physicians as part of the care team Maintains the electronic records both EPM and EMR. Must maintain a current and valid driver's license. Ability to communicate promptly and professionally answer telephone calls and routes calls appropriately. Liaise with patients and their families in a compassionate and courteous manner Maintains strict confidentiality and treats staff, physicians, patients and visitors with respectFront Desk:
Scheduling and Verification Greets patients and assists them appropriately during the check-in process, verifies insurance and verifies referral process has been completed May be required to either check in or check out patients according to your assignment. Schedule patient's next appointment / schedule any test as physician directed May be responsible for completing testing pre-certifications Ensures that a new patient information sheet is filled out on all patients annually and that necessary information changes are made at each visit Explains and verifies financial requirements to the patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required Clinical Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned. Accurately records patient information in EMR system Provide telephone support and communication as part of clinical team and as assigned. Maintain excellent base and working knowledge of clinical information. This should include by not be limited to basic understanding of diagnosis current, primary medications—brand and generic names. Responsibilities may include obtaining vitals, medication reconciliation, point of care lab testing, venipuncture, injections, prior authorizations, andEKGs Credentials:
Medical Assistant - PSV Manual (Required)Education or Equivalent Experience:

Medical assistant diploma or certification.Equivalent Experience:
- And Two years of health care experience, EMR knowledge.
- Two years of health care experience, experience in applicable practice preferred.
