We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our premium medical practice for the role of Administrative and Clinical Coordinator. This practice is heavily oriented to elective (non-insurance) premium services for vision correction. Patients are seen in a concierge-level environment. The ideal candidate will project positivity in all interactions, ensuring they treat all patients and co-workers with dignity and respect, and will enjoy working with and improving the lives of our patients. Candidates with previous sales experience and/or a desire to communicate value to patients who are paying out of pocket for outstanding surgical outcomes is a plus. Some medical office experience is desirable, although high-level customer service experience may be substituted. The position is required to be in the office, but there are some days when there is opportunity to work from home.
Clinical responsibilities:
- Perform patient work-ups, including documenting reason for visit, history of present illness, current medications, and some additional medical history in the electronic health record (EHR)
- Perform diagnostic testing including but not limited to, optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus photography, Humphrey visual filed analyzer (HFA), lensometer, auto-refractor
- Instill ophthalmic drops per physicians orders
- Provide medical products to patients as directed by physician
- Clean and maintain instruments and equipment, arranging for maintenance, repair, or calibration as necessary
- Turn on and set up machines in the mornings, shut down and cover machines at end of clinic
- Perform online consulations
- Communicate any delays to the patient in a timely manner
- Communicate with front desk staff remain appraised of clinic patient volume status
- Treat patient information with confidentiality, maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Perform other clinical duties as assigned by the physician Administrative responsibilities
- Subsequent to patient/physician consultation, meet with patient to answer questions, schedule surgery, document same on customer relationship management (CRM) and EHR
- Submit appropriate orders and paperwork timely to the ASC (ambulatory surgery center)
- Review surgical consents with patient, obtain necessary sign
- Attend local ASC to provide support to patients and collect outstanding fees on surgery days
- Use CRM software to identify existing and new patients to schedule consults and appointments
- Cross-train on front desk duties to provide coverage when necessary
- Perform other duties as assigned by physician and practice administrator
Pay:
$28.00 - $39.00 per hour
