Medical Billing SupervisorLocation:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00

  • Hybrid work schedule.
  • Initial training will be conducted onsite for 1-2 weeks.
  • Following training, onsite attendance is required approximately 1-2 times per month.

OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Medical Billing Supervisor to oversee a team of 10 billing and accounts receivable professionals. This individual will be responsible for managing daily billing operations, ensuring accurate and timely claim processing, supporting staff performance, and driving successful collections efforts. The ideal candidate will have a strong healthcare revenue cycle background and proven leadership experience.



Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and lead a team of 10 billing and accounts receivable employees.
  • Oversee daily billing operations, claim submission processes, and accounts receivable management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate claim processing, follow-up activities, and collections efforts.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members regarding both facility and professional billing inquiries.
  • Manage employee performance, coaching, development, and productivity.
  • Approve and coordinate staff scheduling and time-off requests.
  • Monitor billing workflows and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist team members with complex billing, collection, and reimbursement issues.
  • Maintain department goals and ensure compliance with established billing procedures and standards.
    Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in healthcare billing, collections, or revenue cycle management.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory, team lead, or management experience overseeing billing teams.
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing and collections processes.
  • Experience working with IDX or similar healthcare billing systems.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop staff while managing daily department operations.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience within a behavioral health, mental health, or hospital-based billing environment.
  • Previous experience managing both facility and professional billing operations. Top Skills

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Towson, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.88 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
