Position Summary The Interventional Radiology Project Manager is responsible for the comprehensive oversight and coordination of Interventional Radiology projects from initial concept through final completion and handoff. This position serves as the central point of accountability for each assigned project, ensuring that all stakeholders, vendors, partners, and internal departments remain aligned with established project goals, timelines, budgets, contractual requirements, and deliverables. The Project Manager is responsible for keeping projects moving forward, identifying and resolving barriers, maintaining communication among all parties, and ensuring that each phase of the project is completed accurately and on schedule. This is a project-focused leadership position and does not include responsibility for clinical workflows, clinical staff supervision, or day-to-day operational management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Oversight & Leadership Lead assigned Interventional Radiology projects from initial planning through completion and formal handoff. Establish project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and responsibilities. Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans for each assigned initiative. Serve as the primary point of contact and central coordinator throughout the lifecycle of the project. Maintain ownership of project progress and ensure all responsible parties remain accountable for assigned deliverables. Monitor project timelines and proactively address delays, barriers, dependencies, and outstanding items. Ensure projects remain aligned with established objectives, contractual requirements, budgets, and organizational expectations. Coordinate project closeout and transition upon successful completion. Project Planning & Coordination Develop detailed project timelines and implementation schedules. Identify required resources, vendors, stakeholders, approvals, and dependencies. Coordinate activities among internal departments, physicians, external partners, vendors, contractors, consultants, and other project stakeholders. Establish clear roles and responsibilities for each phase of the project. Maintain project trackers, action-item lists, deadlines, and milestone schedules. Coordinate meetings and communications necessary to move projects forward. Ensure required decisions and approvals are obtained within established timelines. Adjust project plans as circumstances change while maintaining visibility into the impact on timelines, budgets, and deliverables. Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary liaison between organizational leadership and project stakeholders. Coordinate communication among physicians, business partners, vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal departments. Maintain consistent communication regarding project status, upcoming milestones, outstanding decisions, risks, and responsibilities. Facilitate project meetings and ensure appropriate follow-up on decisions and action items. Escalate significant delays, risks, financial concerns, or unresolved issues to leadership when appropriate. Build productive relationships with stakeholders while maintaining accountability for project commitments. Vendor & Contractor Coordination Coordinate vendors and contractors involved in assigned projects. Track vendor proposals, contracts, deliverables, timelines, and outstanding requirements. Coordinate project-related equipment, technology, construction, installation, or service requirements as applicable. Monitor vendor performance against agreed-upon project expectations and timelines. Facilitate communication between vendors and appropriate internal or external stakeholders. Ensure vendor-related project requirements are completed before applicable deadlines or project milestones. Documentation & Reporting Maintain organized and comprehensive documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Prepare project status reports for leadership and key stakeholders. Document project decisions, approvals, changes, risks, and outstanding action items. Maintain accurate records of project milestones and completion dates. Develop and maintain dashboards or project trackers to provide visibility into overall project status. Ensure required project documentation is completed and appropriately stored at project closeout. Project Completion & Handoff Ensure all established project deliverables have been completed before project closeout. Coordinate final project reviews with leadership and appropriate stakeholders. Confirm outstanding project items have been resolved or formally transitioned to the responsible party. Complete final project documentation and closeout reporting. Facilitate an organized handoff of the completed project to the appropriate operational leadership or responsible team. Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned and opportunities to improve future project execution. Scope of Position The Interventional Radiology Project Manager/Project Leader is responsible for project execution and oversight rather than ongoing operational management. Once a project has been successfully completed and transitioned, responsibility for ongoing operations is transferred to the appropriate operational or clinical leadership. This position does not have primary responsibility for: Managing clinical workflows or clinical decision-making Supervising clinical staff Managing daily staffing or scheduling Managing day-to-day facility operations Direct patient care Ongoing management of the project or facility following formal project completion and handoff Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field preferred. 3-5+ years of project management, healthcare project implementation, or comparable experience preferred. Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, vendors, and external partners. Healthcare or Interventional Radiology industry experience strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept through completion. Strong organizational and project-management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines simultaneously. Ability to identify problems, establish solutions, and maintain project momentum. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with physicians, executives, business partners, vendors, and internal departments.
