- Dental to support the development and delivery of learning opportunities that strengthen rural dental practices and advance oral health transformation. Position Summary The CoP Coordinator & Trainer
- Dental will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of dental-focused Communities of Practice, learning collaboratives, and educational programs.
This position will engage rural dental providers and healthcare partners by facilitating peer learning, coordinating training activities, supporting practice transformation efforts, and helping participants adopt evidence-based strategies to improve patient care, practice operations, and access to oral health services. The ideal candidate is a skilled facilitator and educator with experience in dental practice operations, adult learning, healthcare improvement, and stakeholder engagement. Key Responsibilities Coordinate dental Communities of Practice, including scheduling meetings, managing communications, preparing agendas, and tracking participation. Support delivery of virtual and in-person training sessions, workshops, webinars, and peer-learning events. Facilitate discussions among dental providers and healthcare partners to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration. Develop and maintain educational resources, training materials, toolkits, and communication materials. Provide training and coaching support related to dental practice transformation, workflow improvement, quality improvement, and patient-centered care. Assist dental practices with implementing evidence-based strategies and operational improvements. Support onboarding and engagement of participating dental practices and rural healthcare organizations. Gather participant feedback, evaluate learning activities, and recommend improvements. Maintain program documentation, attendance records, outcome tracking, and reporting requirements. Collaborate with dental subject matter experts, practice transformation specialists, and RHTP leadership to support program goals. Promote integration of oral health with primary care, behavioral health, and community health initiatives. Qualifications Associate or bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Education, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Dental professional background (Dental Hygienist, Dental Assistant, Dental Practice Manager, or related experience) strongly preferred. Three or more years of experience in dental practice operations, healthcare training, quality improvement, or healthcare program coordination. Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, workshops, or learning collaboratives. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with dental professionals, healthcare organizations, and community partners. Proficiency with virtual meeting platforms, Microsoft Office, and online learning tools. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with rural dental practices, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), community health centers, or public health programs. Knowledge of oral health access challenges, dental workforce issues, and practice transformation strategies. Experience with quality improvement methods such as Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA), Lean, or other improvement frameworks. Experience developing continuing education or professional development programs.
