Job Description

Classification/FLSA Status:
Level III (Part-time / Non-Exempt)
Primary Function:
The part-time Clinic Operations Support provides front-line operational and communication support to ensure efficient patient flow, professional clinic operations, and effective coordination between interns, faculty, and patients during peak clinic hours. Clinic Operations Support may also be required to participate in the clinic outreach programs as assigned by the dean of clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide quality reception services to patients. Provide communication/reception support services to interns and chiropractic center employees. Serve as the first point of contact for all incoming calls Assist interns with scheduling patient visits, examinations, and x-rays Maintain an accurate chiropractic center schedule of appointments. Monitor messages and return calls to interns and/or patients. Monitor the efficient and effective flow of patient services in chiropractic center spaces. Report instances of outstanding professionalism or cases of unprofessional behavior to the dean of clinics (Professional Conduct Report). Ensure efficient opening and closing chiropractic center activities. Straighten and organize all areas of the chiropractic center on a daily basis prior to opening. Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, telephone messages, appointments, and IOC schedule, etc. Provide on-site operations support for community & sports outreach programs. Practice and demonstrate caring, compassionate, and ethical behavior toward patients, student, and employees. Assist with inventory and ordering chiropractic center patient care and reception supplies. Ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist with decorating the chiropractic center for holidays and special events. Water and care for the plants in the chiropractic center. Assist with laundry upkeep. Assist with maintaining the patient gown supply. Provide periodic self-evaluations and goal development. Assist in the administration of the clinical entrance exam and the clinical proficiency exam. Lend enthusiastic support to college policies and to fellow co-workers, particularly in the presence of students and visitors Participate in the annual Lyceum program Commitment to the mission of Sherman College Assume any other duties as assigned by the coordinator for patient and intern services or the dean of clinics.
Basic Knowledge and Skills:
A high school diploma, experience with customer service and/or patient A desire to work in a service-oriented Professional and courteous interpersonal and telephone Ability to perform multiple tasks while maintaining a pleasant work Reliable Transportation Ability to be assertive and enforce chiropractic center policies and procedures Organizational skills
Computer:
MS Office Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
An understanding and support of the philosophy of Bilingual in Spanish and English.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this job the employee works in a controlled work environment and the noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
