Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage the procurement, verification, and documentation of durable medical equipment orders, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and suppliers. Your expertise will help streamline processes, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and deliver exceptional service to our patients. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient care through efficient equipment management and insurance coordination. Responsibilities Verify insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization for durable medical equipment requests Manage electronic health records (EHR) and medical records related to DME orders with accuracy and confidentiality Collaborate with healthcare providers to interpret medical documentation, including
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and medical terminology Process insurance claims using appropriate medical billing and coding procedures while adhering to HIPAA regulations Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to track equipment orders, deliveries, and returns Conduct insurance verification to confirm patient eligibility and benefits prior to equipment issuance Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including medical records, billing information, and correspondence Skills EMR- Nextgen Office Strong understanding of health insurance policies, managed care processes, and insurance prior authorization procedures Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and EMR/EHR management systems Knowledge of medical coding systems such as
ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT
coding, and ICD coding standards Familiarity with medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical records management Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, insurers, and vendors Ability to navigate health insurance verification processes accurately and efficiently Experience in a medical office environment or healthcare setting is highly preferred Join us in delivering exceptional patient care by ensuring the right durable medical equipment reaches those who need it most. Pay:
$17.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
