Medicaid Full Job Description Billing Manager Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Billing Manager to oversee all aspects of our medical billing operations. This leadership role is responsible for managing the billing team, optimizing revenue cycle processes, and ensuring maximum reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.
Billing Manager Responsibilities:
Supervise, train, and evaluate billing staff performance Establish productivity standards and quality metrics Conduct regular team meetings and provide ongoing education Implement process improvements and best practices Mentor and develop team members' skills Create and maintain billing department policies and procedures Monitor and analyze accounts receivable performance Set and achieve collection goals Oversee claim submission and denial management processes Implement strategies to reduce aging accounts Review and approve appeals for complex denied claims Ensure timely filing requirements are met Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and create action plans Ensure compliance with billing regulations and coding guidelines Stay current with insurance policy changes and updates Maintain documentation standards Conduct internal audits Implement and monitor quality control measures Ensure HIPAA compliance Prepare or review monthly financial reports and analysis Monitor and report on department performance metrics Identify revenue improvement opportunities Develop and manage department budget Track and analyze billing trends
Billing Manager Knowledge & Experience:
5+ years of medical billing experience 3+ years of supervisory experience Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing Experience with medical billing software and EMR systems Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field Medical Billing Certification (CMRB, CRCP, or similar) Experience with Centricity/Athena Practice, eClinical Works, Tebra Background in revenue cycle consulting or training
Billing Manager Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team-building abilities Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Outstanding written and verbal communication Strong project management capabilities Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
Billing Manager Pay & Schedule:
