Job Description

Provide Peer support to people living with or in recovery from mental health and/or substance use conditions.

Coordinates/facilitates services and activities of the Drop in Center (DIC). Facilitates discussion Groups to TTBH clients and provides rehabilitative services in both individual and group settings. Assist clients in articulating personal goals for recovery and supports clients in identifying and creating goals and developing recovery plans with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them in achieving those goals. Assist clients in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups, as well as means of locating and joining existing groups. Utilize tools such as the Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) to assist clients in creating their own individual wellness and recovery plans. Assist clients in building skills that will enhance job acquisition and tenure. Teach and role model the value of every individual's recovery experience. Models effective coping techniques and self-help strategies. Assist in obtaining services that suit that individual's recovery needs. Assist clients in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy. Works under moderate supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
