Job Description

Job Overview This position is ideal for someone with experience working in a clinical laboratory, laboratory client services, specimen processing, or medical diagnostics . We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Client Relations / Laboratory Account Manager/Accessioner / to join our team. In this role, you will be the key point of contact for our laboratory clients, fostering strong relationships and ensuring their needs are met with exceptional service. Duties Develop and maintain strong relationships with laboratory clients, Laboratory employees, understanding their unique needs and providing tailored product solutions. Lead negotiations with clients to close deals efficiently while ensuring mutual satisfaction and long-term partnerships. Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems to track client interactions, sales activities, and pipeline progress. Collaborate with internal teams to coordinate product demos, technical support, and after-sales service to enhance customer satisfaction. Manage day-to-day communication and relationships with laboratory clients. Answer incoming client calls and respond to client questions and requests. Make outbound calls to clients when additional information, clarification, or action is required. Contact clients regarding critical-value or critical-result notifications according to laboratory procedures. Assist with onboarding new client accounts and ensure all required information and documentation are complete. Enter and maintain client, patient, specimen, and requisition information accurately in laboratory systems. Review laboratory requisitions for completeness and identify missing or incorrect information. Understand and work with different clinical specimen types and their associated laboratory requirements. Coordinate with laboratory departments regarding specimen issues, testing requirements, rejected specimens, missing information, and client requests. Track and follow up on client issues until resolution. Maintain accurate documentation of client communications and account activities. Provide professional and timely customer service to physicians' offices, healthcare facilities, medical practices, and other laboratory clients. Escalate urgent or unresolved issues to the appropriate laboratory or management team. Maintain confidentiality and follow applicable laboratory, HIPAA, and company policies. Strong understanding of ICD-10 codes, insurance requirements, and medical necessity , with the ability to collaborate closely with the billing team to identify and resolve billing, coding, and documentation issues . The ideal candidate understands laboratory workflows and is comfortable working with specimen types, laboratory requisitions, client requests, and account onboarding . This person will serve as a primary point of contact for clients, coordinate requests with internal laboratory teams, and ensure that client needs are handled accurately and efficiently. Required Qualifications Previous experience working in a clinical laboratory, medical laboratory, diagnostic laboratory, or laboratory client-services environment is required. Working knowledge of clinical specimen types and laboratory requisitions . Experience handling laboratory or healthcare-related phone calls and client communications. Strong computer and data-entry skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple client requests and priorities. Ability to work effectively with laboratory staff, healthcare providers, and clients. Professional, organized, dependable, and customer-focused. Preferred Qualifications Experience in laboratory client services or laboratory account management. Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS). Experience with specimen processing or accessioning. Familiarity with laboratory test orders, requisitions, specimen requirements, and specimen rejection criteria. Experience communicating critical laboratory values/results in accordance with established procedures. Experience onboarding physician offices, clinics, hospitals, or other healthcare accounts. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who understands that laboratory client service requires more than general customer service . You should be comfortable discussing laboratory specimens and requisitions, understanding client needs, entering information accurately, following up on issues, and communicating effectively with both clients and laboratory personnel.
