Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated RN Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing services within our healthcare facility. In this pivotal role, you will oversee clinical operations, ensure compliance with healthcare standards, and foster an environment of exceptional patient care. Your leadership will drive team performance, uphold safety protocols, and promote continuous quality improvement across all nursing departments. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and passionate about elevating patient outcomes through effective supervision and collaboration. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff across multiple units, providing mentorship, performance evaluations, and ongoing training to ensure high standards of care. Coordinate patient care activities, including assessments, medication administration, IV infusion management, and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Oversee clinical workflows utilizing EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner to ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient information. Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, including
ICD-10/ICD-9
coding standards, infection control protocols, and safety procedures like sterile processing and aseptic techniques. Manage staffing schedules to meet patient care needs while optimizing resource utilization; handle staffing adjustments as necessary. Conduct regular audits of medical records, medical imaging reports, laboratory results, and diagnostic evaluations to maintain accuracy and completeness. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in acute care settings such as ICU or Level I Trauma Centers to facilitate seamless patient transitions and discharge planning. Lead utilization review and management efforts to optimize patient outcomes while adhering to regulatory guidelines. Promote a culture of continuous improvement by analyzing clinical data, implementing best practices in geriatrics, behavioral health, dementia care, or pediatric care as applicable. Experience Proven supervisory experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated team management skills. Extensive nursing background with critical care experience in ICU or Level II/Level I Trauma Centers preferred. Hands-on experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and pain management. Experience in specialized areas such as dialysis, neonatal ventilator management, spinal tap procedures or cardiac catheterization is advantageous. Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures like suturing or gastrostomy placement is desirable. Previous roles involving case management, utilization review/management or discharge planning are highly valued. Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and infection control practices essential for maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.
