In Person (Killeen, TX) Position Summary CyberTex Institute of Technology is seeking a highly organized, relationship-focused, and student-centered Medical Assistant Externship & Placement Coordinator to oversee clinical externship placements and support graduate employment outcomes. This position serves as the primary liaison between students, healthcare employers, faculty, and clinical sites to ensure successful externship experiences and career placement opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of healthcare, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping students transition from education to employment. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain partnerships with physician offices, clinics, urgent care centers, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities for externship and employment opportunities. Coordinate and assign externship placements for Medical Assistant students. Monitor student progress throughout the externship experience and provide ongoing support to students and site supervisors. Conduct site visits, evaluations, and employer follow-up as required. Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and employers regarding externship and placement activities. Maintain accurate records of externship agreements, student documentation, placement outcomes, and employer contacts. Ensure compliance with institutional policies, accrediting standards, and clinical site requirements. Assist students with resume preparation, interview coaching, professionalism, and workplace expectations. Organize employer presentations, recruiting events, hiring events, and career fairs. Promote qualified graduates to employer partners and connect graduates with employment opportunities. Track and report externship completion rates, graduate placement outcomes, employer feedback, and other key performance indicators. Resolve issues related to externships or graduate employment in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with faculty, administration, and career services to support student success and institutional goals. Qualifications Associate degree or higher in Medical Assisting, Healthcare Administration, Education, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience in healthcare education, workforce development, career services, clinical coordination, or medical assisting. Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills. Ability to develop and maintain professional partnerships with healthcare employers. Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and related software applications. Preferred Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent credential. Experience coordinating externships, workforce development programs, student services, or career placement activities. Knowledge of healthcare industry regulations, clinical operations, and healthcare employment trends. Experience working in a postsecondary or career school environment.
