The primary responsibilities include greeting patients, managing schedules, coordinating clinic flow, and handling financial counseling and insurance processing.
Greet patients and verify demographics. Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the clinic.
Financial Counseling & Insurance Processing:
Verify insurance benefits, calculate patient costs, and manage financial transactions.
Schedule Management & Emergency Handling:
Review schedules, manage emergency add-ons, and coordinate provider schedules.
Travel & Satellite Support:
Travel to regional satellite clinics as needed.
Compliance & Safety:
Ensure HIPAA compliance and safety protocols are upheld. Qualifications EOB & Insurance literacy with proficiency in explaining coverage details. Working knowledge of insurance terminology including co-pays and authorizations. Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams and Outlook for communication. Standard typing and data entry skills. Empathy, problem-solving abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Reliable personal transportation is required. Experience 1+ years in a medical front office or healthcare billing setting preferred. Specialty experience in retina or ophthalmology is a plus. Skills Technical skills including multi-system navigation and communication software proficiency. Soft skills such as empathy, sense of urgency, and multitasking. Basic math and reconciliation skills for financial tasks. Additional Requirements Travel to satellite clinics when required. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate emergency cases and variable shift lengths.
