Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Service Coordinator to serve as the vital link between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of dental office procedures. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, coordinating appointments, verifying insurance coverage, and ensuring the smooth flow of clinical and administrative processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a compassionate healthcare environment while utilizing your expertise in dental administration and health information management. Responsibilities Greet patients professionally and provide exceptional customer service at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment. Schedule patient appointments accurately using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Curve Review medical documentation for completeness and accuracy in compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical confidentiality policies. Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical history, updating records, and explaining clinic procedures. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) by maintaining accurate documentation review and data entry. Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers via phone calls, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette. Support billing activities by understanding CDT coding. Maintain office organization through filing, managing multi-line phone systems, and handling clerical tasks such as typing and data entry. Collaborate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and ensure timely follow-up on patient needs. Qualifications Proven experience in a dental office setting with familiarity in clinic operations and patient service roles. Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems such as Curve or Dentrix/Eaglesoft for electronic health records management. Demonstrated proficiency in dental billing, coding, insurance verification, and dental insurance policies Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally and effectively manage patient inquiries. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Prior experience with dental or hospital clinics is preferred but not mandatory; clinic experience is advantageous. Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite for documentation review and administrative support tasks. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations along with clinical confidentiality policies to ensure compliance in all activities. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry tasks.
