Job Summary 1st Texas Home Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Home Health Insurance Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will manage all aspects of insurance processes related to home health services, ensuring seamless coordination between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Your expertise will help facilitate timely approvals, accurate billing, and compliance with healthcare policies. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care by streamlining insurance workflows and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and accuracy. Responsibilities Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients receiving home health services, ensuring eligibility and authorization are in place before services commence Manage insurance prior authorization requests by coordinating with insurance carriers and healthcare providers to secure necessary approvals promptly Review and process medical records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) and clinical confidentiality policies Utilize medical coding systems such as CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding to accurately document diagnoses and procedures for billing purposes Enter data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems efficiently while maintaining accuracy and security Collaborate with medical office staff to verify insurance information, update patient records, and resolve billing discrepancies Ensure adherence to health insurance policies, managed care guidelines, and regulatory requirements throughout all processes Skills Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and clinical confidentiality policies Proficiency in medical coding including CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and ICD coding standards Experience with EMR/EHR management systems for electronic health records documentation Familiarity with health insurance policies, managed care procedures, and insurance verification processes Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance representatives Ability to navigate Microsoft Office applications for documentation, reporting, and correspondence Prior experience in medical office or healthcare setting preferred; knowledge of medical billing and insurance prior authorization is a plus Join us in delivering exceptional home health services by ensuring efficient insurance coordination that supports patient care excellence!
Pay:
$19.00 - $25.00 per hour
