GENERAL Position Overview Responsible for supervising all Admitting Department Clerks in the general Admitting Department area, Outpatient, and the Emergency Department Admitting areas. Maintains efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admitting process of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedure. Maintains open communication with the Nursing Supervisor, Business Office, and Environmental Services. Participates in performance improvement and CQI activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education High school graduate or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor degree preferred. Experience Previous experience in a hospital admitting or other healthcare-related field preferred. Previous supervisory or management experience highly desired. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of medical terminology preferred; Proficient Microsoft Office skills a must; Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques; additional languages preferred.
