Help Patients Navigate Their Orthopedic Care Journey At OrthoVirginia, we help people move better, feel better, and get back to the activities they love. As a Triage Team Member, you'll be an important connection between our patients, physicians, and clinical teams—helping patients get the answers, guidance, and support they need throughout their care. This onsite, patient-focused role combines clinical communication, care coordination, and surgery scheduling. It's a great opportunity for someone with a healthcare background who enjoys helping patients, solving problems, and keeping multiple moving pieces organized. Schedule Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Onsite position working closely with physicians and clinical team members What You'll Do Support Patients & Coordinate Care Respond to incoming patient calls and EMR messages, reviewing patient information and addressing questions within the scope of the role. Recognize patient concerns that require prompt attention and follow established protocols to escalate them to the appropriate provider or clinical team member. Communicate provider guidance, results, follow-up instructions, and next steps to patients with clarity and compassion. Manage prescription-related requests and medication prior authorizations. Coordinate lab, imaging, and other patient care needs as directed by providers. Help patients understand what comes next in their care and ensure questions are routed and addressed in a timely manner. Coordinate Surgeries, Imaging & Procedures Schedule inpatient and outpatient surgeries, imaging, diagnostic testing, and in-office procedures. Partner with hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other facilities to coordinate surgical dates and requirements. Coordinate provider orders, documentation, equipment needs, and other requirements to help ensure patients are prepared for their procedures. Educate patients on scheduling requirements, pre-operative testing, and next steps. Serve as a key point of contact for patients throughout the surgical scheduling and care coordination process. Keep Care Moving Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation within the EMR. Work closely with physicians and clinical team members to coordinate patient needs and maintain an efficient workflow. Balance multiple patient needs and priorities in a fast-paced clinical environment. Help create an organized, responsive, and positive experience for every patient. What You'll Bring Previous experience in a healthcare, clinical, or medical office environment. Strong communication and patient service skills. Ability to recognize patient concerns that require escalation and follow established clinical processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Comfort working within an EMR and learning healthcare technology. Knowledge of medical terminology. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate documentation. Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical team members. Experience That Will Help You Stand Out Medical Assistant, LPN, CNA, EMT, or other clinical healthcare experience. Orthopedic or physician-practice experience. Epic or other EMR experience. Previous patient triage or clinical call/message experience. Surgery scheduling or procedure coordination. Medication prior authorizations and prescription coordination. Compensation Range for this position:
$17.98 - $26.97 Compensation for this role will be based on several factors, including the candidate's qualifications, relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, geography/market, and internal equity considerations.
