We are seeking a qualified, compassionate, and experienced Clinical Director to provide clinical oversight and leadership for our substance abuse treatment facility. This role is ideal for a licensed clinician who is organized, knowledgeable in substance use treatment, and comfortable supporting clinical compliance, documentation quality, staff guidance, and client-centered care. The Clinical Director will serve as a key clinical leader and point of contact for the program, helping ensure that services are delivered in accordance with facility policies, ethical standards, payer requirements, and applicable state regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and will bring a balanced approach of clinical excellence, accountability, and support for the treatment team. Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical oversight for substance abuse treatment services, including PHP and IOP
• Support the development, review, and approval of individualized treatment plans and clinical documentation
• Ensure documentation is completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with regulatory, payer, and facility requirements
• Provide clinical guidance, consultation, and support to counselors, group facilitators, case managers, peer support staff, and other treatment team members
• Participate in clinical team meetings, case consultations, chart reviews, and client-care discussions
• Assist with biopsychosocial assessments, ASAM reviews, level-of-care recommendations, and clinical decision-making as needed
• Support utilization review and authorization processes, including initial requests, extensions, documentation review, and coordination with billing or authorization partners
• Monitor clinical quality, client progress, group documentation, and treatment-plan updates
• Serve as a clinical point of contact for audits, annual reviews, compliance requests, and corrective-action plans
• Help maintain compliance with DBHDS, ASAM, HIPAA, Medicaid/insurance, and other applicable standards
• Promote a trauma-informed, recovery-oriented, ethical, and client-centered treatment environment
• Collaborate with leadership to identify clinical needs, improve workflows, support staff development, and strengthen program operations Qualifications
• Active clinical license in good standing appropriate for the role and state requirements
• Experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, mental health, PHP, IOP, outpatient, or residential treatment settings strongly preferred
• Knowledge of ASAM criteria, treatment planning, clinical documentation standards, and substance use treatment best practices
• Familiarity with DBHDS regulations, Medicaid/insurance requirements, HIPAA, and clinical compliance standards preferred
• Prior clinical leadership, supervision, utilization review, or program oversight experience preferred
• Strong communication, organization, documentation, and follow-through skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with clinical, administrative, billing, compliance, and leadership teams
• Professional, ethical, dependable, and committed to providing quality care to individuals in recovery Schedule and Work Setting
• Full-time, remote, hybrid, or on-site schedule options may be considered depending on program needs
• Must be available for clinical consultation, documentation review, team meetings, and compliance-related needs
