About the Role Physicians Eye Surgery Center is looking for a dependable and proactive Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to help maintain our clinic, surgery center, and related facility spaces. This position is responsible for day-to-day maintenance needs, facility walkthroughs, vendor coordination, safety checks, and support for ongoing remodel and improvement projects. The right person will be comfortable working independently, communicating clearly with leadership and staff, and helping keep the building safe, organized, and functional for patients and employees. Key Responsibilities Respond to maintenance requests from staff and leadership Perform routine facility walkthroughs of clinic areas, common areas, restrooms, entrances, parking lot, and surgery center areas as needed Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized facility environment that supports OSHA, CMS, regulatory requirements, and patient care operations Identify and address safety concerns, including trip hazards, blocked exits, clutter, unsafe storage, or facility issues Complete routine life safety and facility checks, including exits, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, door hardware, and compliance-related maintenance logs Keep mechanical rooms, storage areas, tools, and supplies organized and accessible Complete routine daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance checklist items Ensure restrooms and common areas remain functional and properly stocked Monitor parking lot and exterior areas, including delivery access, patient parking, debris, lighting, and other concerns Assist with light repairs, touch-ups, painting, wall protection, furniture/equipment moves, minor facility projects, and remodel support Coordinate with vendors for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, roofing, flooring, pest control, remodel work, and other facility needs Monitor recurring maintenance issues and communicate items that may require vendor support, follow-up, or larger repair planning Communicate project updates, scheduling needs, and concerns clearly and promptly Qualifications Prior maintenance, facilities, handyman, construction, or building operations experience preferred Ability to complete basic repairs and general facility tasks Strong communication and follow-through Ability to prioritize urgent facility needs while also completing routine maintenance duties Comfortable working around a medical clinic and surgery center environment Ability to lift, move, and carry supplies/equipment as needed Professional, respectful, and safety-conscious approach to working around patients and staff Preferred Qualifications Experience in a medical, dental, surgery center, or other healthcare facility Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, flooring, and general repairs Experience supporting remodel or construction projects
