Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join our clinical team in a senior-level role . This position is ideal for an experienced MA who is confident in their clinical skills, highly organized, and enjoys helping a team stay efficient and organized. In addition to providing excellent patient care, this position will play an important role in supporting day-to-day clinical operations, helping maintain consistent workflows, assisting with training and onboarding, and serving as a resource for other Medical Assistants and providers. The ideal candidate is someone who naturally takes initiative, notices what needs to be done, is comfortable taking ownership of responsibilities, and enjoys helping others succeed. Previous medical/clinical experience is required, and strong Medical Assistant experience is highly preferred. ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Clinical Duties Room patients and prepare them for provider visits Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including manual and electronic blood pressures Obtain and update medication lists, medical histories, and other patient information Perform and document review of systems and appropriate screening questionnaires Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments Administer medications and injections as directed and within scope of practice Perform clinical procedures including EKGs, urinalysis, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing Collect, label, and prepare specimens according to established protocols Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical areas Follow infection control, sanitation, and safety protocols Assist with sterilization and proper handling of medical instruments and equipment Clinical Team Support Serve as an experienced resource for other Medical Assistants and clinical staff Help ensure consistent use of established clinical workflows and procedures Assist with training and onboarding of new Medical Assistants and clinical staff Provide guidance and support to team members as questions or workflow issues arise Help identify opportunities to improve efficiency, organization, and patient flow Assist with coordinating daily clinical responsibilities and ensuring important tasks are completed Help monitor clinical supplies, equipment, and inventory Communicate workflow concerns or operational needs to management and providers Assist providers and the clinical team with time-sensitive or high-priority needs Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient clinical environment Lead by example through professionalism, reliability, teamwork, and accountability Patient Communication & Administrative Support Assist with patient calls, clinical messages, prescription requests, and other patient needs Process clinical tasks and follow up on orders, referrals, labs, and imaging as needed Maintain accurate patient documentation Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements Assist with additional administrative and clinical responsibilities as needed What We're Looking For Previous experience working in a medical or clinical setting is required Strong Medical Assistant experience is highly preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or previous Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) experience required Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of patient care Confident performing clinical procedures and obtaining accurate vital signs Comfortable obtaining both manual and electronic blood pressures Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Highly organized and detail-oriented Able to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a busy clinical environment Dependable, punctual, and accountable Comfortable taking initiative and working independently Enjoys helping and supporting coworkers Able to provide direction and assistance to team members when needed Professional, positive, and patient-focused Comfortable learning and adapting to established workflows and procedures Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a family medicine or primary care setting Experience training or mentoring other Medical Assistants Previous senior, lead, trainer, or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting Familiarity with AthenaOne or another electronic medical record system Current CPR/BLS certification Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the clinical environment Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds Ability to perform repetitive computer and documentation tasks Ability to assist with patient care and clinical procedures as required Join Our Team If you are an experienced Medical Assistant who is ready to take on additional responsibility, enjoys supporting a team, and takes pride in helping a medical practice run smoothly, we would love to hear from you.
