Health and Wellbeing Program Director

Job Description

As the Health and Well-being Program Director, you will provide leadership and oversight for the Health and Well-being Department, ensuring high-quality programs and meaningful experiences for our members. This role oversees staff, programs, and resources to deliver exceptional programming that positively impacts our community. We are seeking an individual who has experience with wellness programs that are designed for Active Older Adults (AOA). The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is proud to offer a wide variety of fitness classes, specialized programs, and wellness workshops that are designed to help active older adults stay healthy, connected, and engaged. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to support AOA Programming. Individuals with experience in fitness coaching, personal training, and leading group exercise classes are also encouraged to apply.
Compensation:
$23.70 to $29.91 per hour (Compensation is determined based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications, with most new hires starting between the minimum and midpoint of the posted wage range) Position type: Full-Time, on-site

Qualifications:
Must be able to pass Background and Reference checks (in accordance with the WA State Fair Chance Act). Committed to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment. Able and willing to complete online Child Abuse Prevention training on first day, and other online and in-person training as required. Bachelor's degree and/or two years of related knowledge and experience that includes supervision, fiscal management, program development, staff and volunteer development (preferred). Knowledge of current health and well-being safety and program standards, the latest trends in the industry, and the ability to articulate and incorporate them. Knowledge of and experience in planning, organizing, and implementing age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities. Work effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinion, and perceptions. YMCA Lifeguard or equivalent, CPR for the Professional, AED First Aid, and Oxygen certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days.
