Job Description

Position Summary The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe is seeking a professional, customer-focused Patient Care Coordinator (PCC) to join our Medical Clinic team. This role serves as a critical first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while supporting daily clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Essential Functions Answer and manage incoming calls on a multi-line phone system, accurately routing calls and taking messages. Greet patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner. Check patients in for appointments efficiently and accurately. Collect, verify, and enter patient demographic and insurance information. Schedule appointments for 25+ healthcare providers using established scheduling protocols. Scan insurance cards and other required documentation into the electronic health record (EHR). Assist patients with general needs, including completing forms and paperwork. Collect and accurately post patient co-payments and other payments. Verify and update insurance information. Post payments and maintain accurate records. Participate in clinic meetings and team activities. Maintain compliance with all Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe policies and procedures, including HIPAA requirements, safety standards, and occupational exposure control practices. Perform additional duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience. Basic cash handling and money management experience. Experience using standard office equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite applications. 10-key proficiency and keyboarding skills of 40+ words per minute. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Effective time management, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to successfully pass a criminal background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Associate's Degree. One (1) year of reception experience in a healthcare or clinic setting. Washington State Medical Assistant Certification eligibility for Level A, C, or E. Knowledge of medical terminology. Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes. Qualified American Indian/Alaska Native applicants are encouraged to apply. Indian preference applies in accordance with applicable Tribal and federal laws.
