Full Job Description UM Coordinator Location:

Montebello, CA (Onsite)

Pay:

$24-$25/hr

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM or 8:30 AM-5:00 PM A reputable managed care organization in Montebello is seeking a UM Coordinator to support the Medical Management team with authorization and referral processing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in managed care, utilization management, medical billing, or healthcare authorizations. Responsibilities Process inpatient and outpatient referrals and authorizations in accordance with state and federal guidelines Coordinate pre-authorizations and reimbursement requests for Medi-Cal, CCS, and other government programs Communicate with providers, clinics, and internal teams regarding authorization status and follow-up Troubleshoot authorization and referral issues and escalate as needed Maintain accurate documentation and HIPAA compliance Provide administrative support to the Medical Management team Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required 1+ year of experience in medical billing, IPA, HMO, managed care, or a similar healthcare environment Experience with pre-authorizations and reimbursement processes required UM authorization/referral processing experience strongly preferred Healthcare or specialty clinic call center experience preferred Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS preferred Strong organizational and computer skills Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Temp-to-hire opportunity with long-term potential within a stable healthcare organization.
