Job Description

At Hearing Services of Santa Barbara, we are dedicated to our patients' overall hearing health. We want our patients to enjoy life and interact socially with confidence. Our professionals work with our patients to analyze their specific hearing loss, provide educated and informed solutions, and guarantee a "perfect fit" and after care for the patient and their hearing aids. Our extern will work alongside our audiologists and our partner - ENT Associates of Santa Barbara - to serve patients of all ages at both our offices (Goleta & Solvang). Early applications are highly encouraged and this externship has the potential to become a full-time position! A day in the life could include: Collaborating with 3 audiologists, an otolaryngologist and physician assistant. Gathering patient history, building rapport, establishing trust. Conducting audiometric testing, counseling patients, and making strong recommendations for hearing aids. Fitting and programming hearing aids from major manufacturers, and providing appropriate follow-up care (approximately 10 hearing aids per month or more). Cochlear implant evaluations and mapping. Maintaining documentation and patient files.
Other testing:
ABR, VNG/ENG, and Tympanometry testing. Candidates with knowledge or experience with balance testing or cochlear implants are especially encouraged to apply. Our main clinic is located in scenic Goleta, a community just miles north of Santa Barbara. It is conveniently located in a beautiful brand new building near the Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, on the corner of Patterson and Hollister. The city of Goleta works hard to keep its residents safe, and has been named one of the top 50 Safest Cities in California 5 years in a row! Our second office is located in Solvang, CA - a Danish Village in the middle of Santa Barbara wine country. Solvang is a small, family focused, pet friendly town with a little something for everyone.
