Job Description

Audiology by Accent is looking for our next Extern. Audiology by Accent is a fast-paced ENT & Audiology clinic with 4 AuDs and 2 ENTs and multiple PAs in the heart of Gainesville, FL. We treat a wide variety of patients and offer a well-rounded, paid fourth year placement with Friday afternoons off! Audiology by Accent has offered unbundled pricing for hearing aids since 2012 and has been named the "Best Local Hearing Aid/Audiology Clinic" by multiple publications for the last 7 years in a row. Beyond the usual diagnostic and rehabilitative roles and responsibilities Audiology by Accent offers our extern a unique insight into business practices such as pricing, marketing, and building and maintaining strategic partnerships with manufacturers. When your externship is complete you should be proficient in pediatric and adult diagnostics, vestibular evaluations, tinnitus treatment, HPDs, hearing aid selection, dispensing, programming, verification and troubleshooting, as well as gaining insight into unbundling and associated business strategies. Externs work alongside our AuDs, two of which have their CCC-A providing the following services: Adult & Pediatric Audiologic Evaluations Immittance Testing Otoacoustic Emissions Testing Treatment and Management of Hearing Loss Hearing Aid Selection, Dispensing, Programming, Troubleshooting Real Ear Verification Measures Treatment and Management of Tinnitus Custom Earmolds and Earplugs Externs will also have access to a variety of educational opportunities including: Onsite training from manufacturer reps Professional Conferences Community Outreach Manufacturer Hosted Events Office hours are Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-5:00 pm with a 1-hour lunch break and Fridays 8:00 am-12:00pm. Externs have an annual salary of $35,000 and receive 2 weeks of PTO and 8 paid holidays throughout the year. Audiology by Accent also offers a stipend for relocation expenses.
