This position is uniquely designed to focus primarily on the ongoing care, fitting, education, and support of patients using hearing technology . Working closely with audiologists and other members of our hearing care team, the Hearing Instrument Specialist will play an important role in helping patients feel confident, supported, and successful throughout their hearing journey. We believe exceptional hearing care goes beyond recommending technology. It requires time to listen, educate, adjust, troubleshoot, encourage, and build lasting relationships with patients. This role provides the opportunity to focus on those meaningful patient interactions while working within a collaborative care model supported by audiologists and a multidisciplinary team. What You'll Do Conduct hearing aid fittings and orientation appointments, ensuring patients understand how to use and care for their technology. Provide follow-up care, adjustments, counseling, troubleshooting, and ongoing hearing aid support. Help patients and families navigate the adjustment process and develop confidence using their hearing devices. Collaborate closely with audiologists to provide coordinated, high-quality care and appropriate clinical follow-up. Support audiologists by helping manage the ongoing hearing technology needs of shared patients. Evaluate patient needs during follow-up appointments and make appropriate recommendations within the scope of practice. Perform hearing aid checks, repairs, programming, and other routine hearing technology services. Maintain accurate and timely documentation. Develop strong, long-term relationships with patients and provide an exceptional patient experience at every visit. Participate in team meetings, education, outreach, and other activities that support the mission and growth of Lakeland Hearing Care and Central Florida Speech & Hearing Center. Qualifications Current Florida Hearing Aid Specialist license or eligibility for licensure. Strong knowledge of hearing aid technology, fitting, programming, troubleshooting, and follow-up care. Excellent communication and patient counseling skills. A compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Ability to work collaboratively with audiologists and an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
