Bright Bioservices, LLC Position Summary Bright Bioservices, LLC is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Contract / On-Call Histology Technician to provide histology laboratory support on an as-needed basis. Work assignments and hours will be based on laboratory workload, project requirements, and scheduling needs. The Histology Technician is responsible for processing biological tissue specimens and preparing high-quality histological slides in accordance with established laboratory procedures, study requirements, and quality standards. The position requires careful attention to specimen identification, documentation, tissue handling, and laboratory safety to maintain specimen integrity and traceability throughout the histology process. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receive, identify, accession, and track tissue specimens. Perform gross handling and preparation of tissues as appropriate to assigned duties. Prepare and maintain tissue fixatives and other laboratory solutions. Perform tissue fixation and tissue processing. Embed tissue specimens in paraffin using proper orientation. Operate a microtome to produce high-quality tissue sections. Perform routine slide preparation and staining, including Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E) staining. Perform special stains or other histology procedures as trained and assigned. Label slides, blocks, cassettes, and other specimen materials accurately. Maintain specimen identity and chain of custody throughout laboratory processing. Evaluate slides for basic technical quality and repeat processing, sectioning, or staining when necessary. Operate, clean, and perform routine maintenance on histology laboratory equipment. Maintain laboratory work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Maintain accurate laboratory records, worksheets, logs, and other required documentation. Monitor laboratory supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies require replenishment. Follow applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), study protocols, work instructions, and safety requirements. Follow Bright Bioservices quality procedures and applicable GLP requirements. Properly handle and dispose of biological materials, chemicals, sharps, and laboratory waste. Assist with other laboratory activities as assigned to include possible tissue recovery, circulation and processing.

Contract / On

-Call Schedule This is a contract/on-call position . Work will be scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on laboratory workload and project requirements. There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours or assignments. Availability and scheduling will be coordinated with the Laboratory Manager or other designated Bright Bioservices representative. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or certificate in histotechnology, biological sciences, laboratory science, or a related field preferred. Previous histology laboratory experience required for qualified entry-level candidates. Experience with tissue processing, paraffin embedding, microtomy, and H&E staining is required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong attention to detail and specimen identification. Ability to follow written SOPs and laboratory instructions accurately. Basic knowledge of histology laboratory techniques and terminology. Ability to maintain accurate and complete documentation. Ability to safely handle biological specimens and laboratory chemicals. Ability to operate laboratory equipment after appropriate training. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a laboratory team. Ability to recognize technical problems and notify appropriate supervisory personnel. Basic computer and laboratory data-entry skills. Physical Requirements The technician must be able to perform routine laboratory activities that may include prolonged standing or sitting, repetitive hand movements, operation of laboratory equipment, and lifting or moving laboratory supplies and materials. The position requires the ability to work safely while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Work Environment Work is primarily performed in a laboratory environment and may involve exposure to human or animal biological materials, tissue fixatives, solvents, stains, paraffin, sharps, and other laboratory chemicals. Appropriate engineering controls, PPE, and established safety procedures must be followed at all times. Quality and Compliance Responsibilities The Histology Technician is responsible for performing assigned activities in accordance with approved procedures and applicable quality requirements. Laboratory activities must be documented accurately, contemporaneously, and completely. Any errors, deviations, equipment problems, specimen discrepancies, or other quality concerns must be promptly reported to appropriate supervisory personnel
