Diagnostic Pathology Medical Group, Inc (DPMG) in East Sacramento seeks to hire one full-time Histology Laboratory Assistant I. Prior laboratory experience is not required as training will be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned. Packages and sends slides to pathologists at various locations Stains slides on the H&E stainers Receives and loads specimen cassettes onto tissue processors Prints laboratory orders for levels, special stains and immunoperoxidase Pulls and files surgical, research, forensic and autopsy paraffin blocks and slides Performs equipment maintenance and quality control Answers phone calls utilizing efficient interpersonal and communication skills, as well as excellent telephone and customer service skills and etiquette Manages time and resources efficiently and effectively Exhibits attention to detail and a strong work ethic Participates as a Team Member to ensure the smooth operation of the entire department Education and/or

Experience:

Medical terminology is a plus but not required Prior pathology laboratory experience is a plus but not required Some college preferred

Qualifications:

Detail oriented with strong organizational skills Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Must be able to work independently in a fast paced, high volume laboratory Must have the ability to multitask

Hours:

Full Time; Monday - Friday 5:00am - 1:30pm
