• Job Summary:

• Performs both routine and complex histologic techniques such as enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and immunofluorescence on tissue samples for microscopic examination by a pathologist to diagnose disease.

Knowledgeable in the areas of pathology, management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histotechnology; acts as a technical resource for the department.

• Job Requirements
• In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

• Required Education and Experience:

• + Opt 1: Bachelor Degree with a combination of 30 semester hrs of biology and chemistry (must include both), AND successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program.

+ Opt 2: Bachelor Degree with a combination of 30 semester hrs of biology and chemistry (must include both), AND one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years including fixation, embedding, microtomy, processing and staining.

• Preferred Education and Experience:

• + Bachelor degree and successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program, AND/OR Histotechnology certification, HTL, by American Society of Clinical Pathology

• Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training:

• + Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize duties. Knowledgeable in the areas of pathology management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histology. Physical, Exertion, and Sensory - Medium
