This role supervises laboratory personnel, maintains regulatory compliance, manages quality assurance programs, and works closely with Pathologists to support outstanding patient care. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily Histology Laboratory operations and staff Perform and oversee tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, H&E, immunohistochemistry (IHC), and special stains Train, mentor, and evaluate histology team members Ensure compliance with CAP, CLIA, and Joint Commission standards Oversee quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing Troubleshoot laboratory equipment and validate new procedures Collaborate with Pathologists and laboratory leadership to improve workflow and patient outcomes Qualifications HT or HTL (ASCP) Certification Required Associate degree or equivalent science coursework Minimum 5 years of Histology experience Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred Experience with CAP inspections, CLIA regulations, and laboratory accreditation Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills About Serenity Med Search Serenity Med Search specializes in permanent healthcare recruitment, connecting exceptional laboratory professionals with leading hospitals and healthcare systems across the country.
