In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality tissue specimens for microscopic examination, supporting the Mohs micrographic surgery flow, and ensuring adherence to laboratory standards. Your expertise will directly contribute to accurate diagnosis and effective patient care, making a meaningful impact in the field of dermatological oncology. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where precision and professionalism are paramount. This is ideally a part-time or per-diem position, with options to increase as volume grows. Responsibilities Prepare and process tissue samples from Mohs surgery procedures, ensuring proper fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining Depending on your qualifications, grossing, inking, and mapping specimens Maintain strict compliance with CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) regulations and laboratory standard operating procedures, keeping accurate records and logs Maintain a clean, organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols related to laboratory tissue handling and immunological techniques Requirements Certified Histotechnician (ASCP) or eligible Previous experience as a Mohs histotech, ideally with high complexity Detail-oriented, Works well under pressure, Team player, Self-sufficient, Quick learner, Multi-tasker, Ability to take constructive criticism, Problem solver
