Tampa FL Position Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Digital Pathology Technician to support a medical research initiative focused on advancing digital pathology and improving disease diagnosis. This temporary position is expected to last 90-120 days and is ideal for individuals with an interest in laboratory operations, pathology, or medical research. The Digital Pathology Technician will be responsible for operating digital pathology scanning equipment, handling pathology slides, performing quality checks, and ensuring scanned images meet established standards. Previous histology experience is preferred but not required, as training will be provided. Key Responsibilities Operate and maintain digital pathology scanning equipment. Load and unload glass pathology slides into scanning systems with care. Inspect pathology slides and scanned images to ensure quality and accuracy. Prepare and organize slides for digital scanning and archiving. Follow laboratory procedures and maintain accurate documentation. Communicate effectively with onsite and remote team members. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned to support project objectives. Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in biology, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Laboratory Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 0-2 years of laboratory, pathology, histology, or healthcare experience. Histology Technician experience is preferred but not required. Strong attention to detail and ability to handle delicate laboratory specimens. Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to learn new technology and operate specialized scanning equipment. Comfortable working in a fast-paced research environment. Must successfully pass a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation. Preferred Qualifications Experience handling pathology specimens or laboratory samples.
