Monday-Friday | 4:30 AM-1:00 PM Job Summary We are seeking a Histotechnician (HT) to join a histology team in Atlanta, GA. This position is responsible for preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and performing a variety of histology procedures, including embedding, microtomy, cutting, staining, coverslipping, and daily slide case management. The Histotechnician will also perform special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as directed while maintaining high standards for specimen quality, accuracy, and laboratory safety. Responsibilities

Embed various types of human tissue specimens for histologic examination.

Perform microtomy and section paraffin-embedded tissue according to established protocols.

Perform routine staining and coverslipping of prepared slides.

Perform special stains and immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures as directed.

Manage and organize daily slides and assist with case assembly and distribution.

Follow established procedures for embedding, microtomy, staining, and tissue preparation.

Maintain fresh solutions, stains, reagents, and other necessary materials.

Perform appropriate quality control throughout histology processes.

Keep embedding areas, microtomes, and workstations clean and organized.

File and organize tissue blocks and slides as needed.

Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials and laboratory waste.

Follow all laboratory safety precautions and established procedures.

Maintain patient confidentiality and protect sensitive health information.

Follow applicable regulatory, compliance, privacy, and security requirements.

Qualifications / Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.

Completion of on-the-job histology training or documented formal histology training required.

Minimum of one year of histology laboratory experience required, specifically performing microtomy and/or tissue embedding.

Hands-on knowledge of paraffin-embedded tissue sectioning and histology techniques.

Experience with special stains and/or IHC preferred.

Knowledge of staining, coverslipping, slide preparation, and case management preferred.

Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce high-quality tissue sections.

Knowledge of laboratory quality control and safety practices.

Must maintain appropriate continuing education for certification, when applicable.
