Orientation:
2-day orientation provided prior to start Responsibilities Perform embedding, sectioning, and staining of tissue specimens to produce high-quality slides for microscopic review. Prepare and process tissue specimens, including labeling, accessioning, and distribution of blocks and slides; manage slide logistics and documentation. Operate and troubleshoot histology equipment (processors, embedding stations, microtomes, stains, coverslippers) and monitor quality control parameters. Implement quality control procedures; document results and report any staining or processing issues to the supervisor or pathologist. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; adhere to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with pathologists and lab staff to ensure timely turnaround of specimens and effective communication of any specimen-related concerns.
Requirements Licensure/Certification:
ASCP HT or HTL registration is required.
Experience:
1+ years of experience in histopathology; prior embedding, sectioning, and staining experience required.
Education:
Technical/Professional training or a degree in Histotechnology is required.
Practical requirements:
Ability to work in a hospital-based histology lab and to work evening shifts (2:00 pm-10:30 pm); strong attention to quality, safety, and accurate documentation. Benefits and Support Bi-weekly pay cadence
