10:00 a.m.-6:30 p.m. 40 hours per week Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Histology Assistant/Slide Scanning Technician to support the pathology laboratory at Mass General Brigham in Boston. This is an entry-level laboratory-support position focused on scanning, transporting, sorting, organizing, and filing glass slides. Previous histology, pathology, or clinical laboratory experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided. Responsibilities Scan glass slides using laboratory scanning equipment Transport slides between laboratory areas, processing stations, and pathology departments Carefully deliver specimens, cassettes, and slides to designated laboratory areas Clean, sort, organize, and file completed glass slides Place slides into the appropriate folders, trays, or storage systems Label and track slides and related materials accurately Enter or verify basic information in the laboratory information system Restock laboratory supplies Clean work surfaces and equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory workspace Follow all laboratory safety, confidentiality, and specimen-handling procedures Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in histology, pathology, specimen processing, healthcare, or a clinical laboratory is preferred but not required Comfortable working in a laboratory around biological specimens Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable performing repetitive, accuracy-focused work Basic computer and data-entry skills Dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions Able to safely handle fragile glass slides and specimen materials Comfortable standing, walking, transporting materials, and organizing files throughout the shift Must be available for the complete Tuesday-through-Saturday schedule Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, careful, and comfortable performing routine laboratory-support work.
