AAGA Laboratory Position Summary The Histology Technician performs routine and specialized laboratory procedures involved in the preparation of tissue samples for microscopic examination. This role ensures high-quality slide preparation to support accurate gastrointestinal diagnoses. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Process tissue specimens through embedding, sectioning, and staining Prepare high-quality slides for pathologic evaluation Maintain laboratory equipment and perform routine maintenance Follow specimen handling and labeling protocols Document all procedures accurately in laboratory systems Assist with quality control procedures Maintain clean and safe laboratory environment Follow all regulatory and safety guidelines Required Qualifications Associate degree in Science or related field preferred HT (ASCP) certification preferred or eligible Prior histology or lab experience preferred Knowledge, Skills & Competencies Understanding of histology techniques and procedures Strong attention to detail Ability to follow protocols precisely Good organizational skills Team-oriented mindset Physical Requirements Standing for long periods Fine motor skills for microtomy Handling biological materials Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs Work Environment Clinical laboratory environment with exposure to specimens and chemicals. Pay:
$30.00 - $41.00 per hour
