Job Description

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is hiring a Histo Tech to join the team at the CMH Dermatology Clinic in Bolivar, Missouri — someone who leads with skill, compassion, and a drive to positively impact every patient and family we serve.

Days Hours:
20 hours per week
What Your Day Looks Like:
The Dermatology Clinic diagnoses and treats a wide range of skin conditions. Histo Techs prepare tissue for diagnosis by a Pathologist. As a Histo Tech, you will be: Completing all steps in the preparation of tissue, including grossing, labeling, processing and decalcification processing, embedding, Microtomy, H&E staining, and immunochemistry. Conducting quality control to recognize and reject results based on ranges of acceptability Troubleshooting stain issues Performing routine instrument and preventative maintenance and documenting results Completing testing procedures following prioritization guidelines Cleaning and stocking lab work spaces as needed
Qualifications Education:
Associate's Degree (HT) or Bachelor's Degree (HLT) is required
Experience:
One year grossing experience, including complex specimens, and one year MOHS technician experience is preferred
Licensure/Certification:
Histotechnologist (HTL) ASCP certification or Histotechnician (HT) ASCP certification required
Physical Requirements:
