Position Overview:
As a Mohs Histotechnician/Surgical Coordinator, you will play a critical role in providing both clinical and administrative support to our surgical team. Responsibilities include preparing tissue specimens for Mohs surgery, coordinating surgical schedules and referrals, communicating with patients, and supporting the day-to-day operations of our surgical services. Prior laboratory or histology experience is not required. We are willing to provide comprehensive, hands-on training to the right candidate who demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, a willingness to learn, and a genuine interest in developing a career in Mohs surgery. Because of the extensive training and investment required to become proficient in this specialized role, candidates must be willing to make a three-year employment commitment to Fora Dermatology. This position requires travel to all Fora Dermatology locations where Mohs surgery is performed, including, but not limited to, Mooresville, Taylorsville, and Statesville.
Laboratory Duties:
Prepare and process tissue specimens for routine and specialized procedures. Perform microtomy and staining of slides according to established protocols. Record, analyze, and document test results accurately. Record keeping
Surgical Coordination:
Maintain and coordinate the surgical schedule, including referrals to specialists. Assist with surgical preparations and ensure all necessary materials and instruments are ready. Provide pathology results to patients and facilitate follow-up care as directed by the provider.
Administrative Support:
Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage patient communications. Assist with the preparation of pre-operative and post-operative informational materials. Support clinical admin duties and ensure proper documentation of all patient interactions.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. No prior histology or laboratory experience required; we are willing to train the right candidate. Strong attention to detail and ability to learn highly technical, hands-on skills. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Dependable, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Willing and able to travel between Fora Dermatology locations where Mohs surgery is performed.
