GENERAL SUMMARY
Oversees daily planning, coordination and training of technical activities in the hospital anatomic pathology technician area. Ensures procedures in the area are performed accurately and promptly using the accepted quality control guidelines. Performs instrument maintenance.PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1.- Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2.
- Coordinates the daily operation of the histology pathology technicians at multiple locations. 3.
- Provides assistance and training to staff members on new methods, procedures, requirements, etc. 4.
- Coordinates with Laboratory leadership to ensure all CAP requirements are met. 5.
- Creates schedules and executes other daily team leadership duties. 6.
- Ensures manuals and procedures are up-to-date and procedures are performed per CAP guidelines. 7.
- Maintains cleanliness and stocking at multiple hospital lab locations. 8.
- Performs daily clerical tasks as deemed necessary by a pathologist or manager. 9.
- Prepares specimens for testing. 10.
- Performs Frozen Sections and collects Fine Needle Aspirations. 11.
- Enters patient and specimen information data accurately into the computer system.
