$32.5058-$48.7642/hr Job Summary The Histotechnician/Histotechnologist performs histological technical procedures using both manual and automated techniques to produce high-quality pathology slides for Pathologist review. This role supports accurate diagnosis by maintaining strict quality control, adhering to laboratory standards, and ensuring precision in all histology processes.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

Adhere to hospital Performance Standards, policies, and professional behaviors Perform embedding and microtomy of tissue blocks per protocol (biopsies, routine specimens, etc.) Review routine H&E stains daily for quality and accuracy prior to slide release Perform special stains, verifying quality, positive controls, and documentation Perform immunohistochemistry (IHC) procedures, verifying positive and negative controls with proper documentation.

Education & Experience Requirements:

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License or NYS PA License (required) Degree in Medical Technology or related science preferred Minimum of one year of hospital-based Histology experience preferred ASCP certification preferred
