Category Laboratory - Histology Job Type Direct Hire Step into a vital role preparing tissue specimens for microscopic examination and supporting specialized histology and immunocytochemistry testing within an established Department of Anatomic Pathology. This direct hire opportunity welcomes skilled professionals passionate about advancing patient care through expert laboratory work. With positions available on all shifts and a particularly strong need for 2nd and 3rd shift coverage, flexible options can align with your preferred schedule. An hourly pay range of $30.75-$46.12 is offered, with additional shift differentials for evening and overnight work. Schedule/Hours All shifts available; 2nd and 3rd shifts highly needed Shift differential applies: $3/hour for 2nd shift, $3.50/hour for 3rd shift when at least 4 hours of a shift are worked Key Responsibilities Prepare and process tissue specimens, including embedding, cutting, staining, and immunocytochemical procedures as requested by pathologists Maintain thorough documentation of instrument maintenance, quality control, and laboratory records Train and support Histotechnologists and Histotechnicians in daily functions Grossly identify tissue adequacy in the operating room, communicate findings with Attending and Fellows, and ensure proper specimen handling Manage a high volume of routine and STAT requests, troubleshooting as necessary Additional duties as assigned to support the needs of the department Desired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience in a histology laboratory setting Certification as Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) Strong attention to detail, ability to maintain quality control data, and effective communication skills Advance your career in a dynamic histopathology environment and make a lasting impact on patient diagnoses.
