Benefits may vary based upon position type and/or level. Job Summary The Histotechnician 3 performs and monitors various anatomic procedures and processes. They assume responsibility for problem resolution and train others in all department aspects with minimal supervision. Essential Functions of the Role Perform variety of technical procedures resulting in creation of microscopic slide preparations. Follow quality control, quality assurance, safety, and infection control procedures. Recognize and take appropriate action when established procedures and policies are not followed. Perform instrument maintenance, maintain appropriate inventory of supplies and troubleshooting as needed. Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers. Participate in laboratory projects and educational activities. Demonstrates and educates laboratory methods, technical skills and provide direction to others. Performs all delegated functions as defined by facility CLIA Director. Assume leadership responsibility in the absence of Supervisor/Manager. Key Success Factors Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols and procedures. Statistical and critical thinking abilities. Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions. Ability to perform laboratory protocols and procedures. Skill in the use of computers and related software applications. Knowledge of safety and infection control standards. Fosters a positive and productive work environment that furthers the quality and effectiveness of patient care.
