As our laboratory continues to grow, we are looking for an energetic, detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where quality and customer service are our highest priorities. Position Summary We are seeking a Laboratory Operations & Histology Technician to support the daily operations of our laboratory. This role combines routine histopathology procedures with laboratory operations, specimen processing, quality control, inventory management, logistics, and project coordination. This is not a research scientist or assay development position. The successful candidate will perform standardized laboratory procedures by following established SOPs while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion of work. Success in this position requires someone who is organized, dependable, enjoys problem solving, communicates well, and is comfortable working with multiple departments across different countries. The position involves daily collaboration with Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), Project Managers, Business Development, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and laboratory personnel located in both the United States and our international offices. Regular participation in online meetings and cross-functional project discussions is an important part of the role. Key ResponsibilitiesHistology & Laboratory Operations Receive, accession, verify, label, and organize incoming biological specimens. Process tissue specimens according to established laboratory SOPs. Perform FFPE tissue processing and embedding. Operate a microtome to prepare tissue sections. Prepare high-quality microscope slides. Perform routine Hematoxylin & Eosin (H&E) staining. Assist with Immunohistochemistry (IHC) workflow preparation and slide handling as needed. Organize, archive, retrieve, and maintain tissue blocks and slides. Assist with handling blood, plasma, serum, urine, swabs, stool, and other biological specimens and ensure quality control on samples received. Maintain specimen traceability and chain of custody throughout laboratory workflows. Ensure all laboratory work meets internal quality standards. Laboratory Quality & Documentation Perform routine quality control checks on specimens and completed laboratory work. Verify specimen integrity, labeling accuracy, documentation, and completeness. Maintain accurate laboratory records and electronic documentation. Ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and quality requirements. Support internal audits and quality improvement initiatives. Identify discrepancies and communicate quality concerns promptly. Assist in maintaining audit-ready documentation. Laboratory Operations & Logistics Assemble laboratory collection kits and research kits. Maintain laboratory inventory and monitor supply levels. Track reagent and consumable expiration dates. Prepare domestic and international specimen shipments. Package biological specimens using appropriate cold-chain procedures. Coordinate dry ice shipments and shipping documentation. Maintain laboratory organization, cleanliness, and safety. Assist with equipment maintenance records and routine operational tasks. Project Coordination & Customer Support Support customer projects from specimen receipt through shipment and project completion. Coordinate activities between laboratory staff, Clinical Research Associates, Project Managers, Logistics, and Quality teams. Monitor project timelines and ensure assigned activities are completed on schedule. Maintain accurate project records and documentation. Communicate professionally with customers regarding specimen status, timelines, and project updates when required. Cross-Functional Team Collaboration This role is highly collaborative and requires regular communication with teams across multiple departments and countries.
