Job Description
Live In Direct Support Professional and Second Shift Service Provider Blueberry Lodge Assisted Living Group Home North Douglas, Juneau, Alaska Blueberry Lodge is seeking a compassionate, dependable, full time professional to fill a unique combined position within our established adult assisted living home. This position combines two separate roles into one. The first role is a paid Second Shift Direct Support Professional , working from 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at $24 per hour . The second role is serving as our Live In Overnight Service Provider , residing on site from 10:30 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. in exchange for free private room and board . The overnight portion is not an hourly paid shift . Instead, your overnight presence is exchanged for housing, utilities, and additional employment benefits. For more than twenty years, Blueberry Lodge has provided a safe, family style home for three to four adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our residents are generally independent and do not require nursing level care or hands on personal care. This is not a CNA, nursing assistant, or personal care attendant position. Our residents do not require assistance with bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, transfers, lifting, or other hands on personal care. Instead, we provide supervision, encouragement, coaching, prompting when appropriate, transportation, meal preparation, community involvement, and assistance developing independent living skills. Compensation and Benefits Paid Second Shift 2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Hourly wage Live In Benefits Your overnight presence from 10:30 p.m. until 7:30 a.m. is exchanged for free room and board, including: Private entrance Private bedroom Private bathroom Private sauna Access to shared kitchen and living areas Beautiful log home overlooking the tidelands near Eaglecrest Ski Area Utilities included Phone allowance Alaska Club gym membership Medical allowance Overnight emergencies are extremely rare. In more than twenty years of operation, we have never experienced an overnight emergency requiring staff intervention. The overnight role primarily provides reassurance and peace of mind for residents and their families should an unexpected situation ever arise. Second Shift Responsibilities The paid second shift focuses on helping residents live healthy, active, independent lives.
