Responsibilities Deliver comprehensive patient care by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor patient health by observing vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately. Administer medications safely following medical instructions and home healthcare regulations while maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards. Support patients with specialized needs such as Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, and end-of-life care to ensure comfort and safety. Utilize patient transfer methods safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts or transfer belts; assist with mobility and positioning to prevent falls or injury. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, cleaning, and ensuring infection control protocols are followed. Communicate effectively with clients and their families to provide updates on health status and address concerns compassionately. Follow home health agency protocols diligently while adhering to all home health care assistance standards and regulations. Experience Proven experience working in home healthcare settings or assisted living environments with a focus on geriatric or disabled populations. Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia. 1 year of home health/caregiver experience. Must be able to work weekends. Must be able to care for and assist Multiple Patients Familiarity with patient transfer methods including Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids; ability to lift heavy loads safely when necessary. Certification in First Aid, Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR, and other relevant safety training is required or preferred. Understanding of home health regulations and compliance standards such as HIPAA is essential for maintaining patient privacy and safety. Must have reliable transportation. Must be dependable, professional, and compassionate. Must be willing to travel between client locations.
