Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, and age-related conditions. In this vital role, you will assist residents with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure a safe, engaging environment. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, bathing, dressing, and toileting. Monitor patient health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition. Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure safety and compliance. Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management while maintaining cleanliness in dining areas. Document care activities accurately in resident records and communicate effectively with team members regarding patient needs. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment that promotes dignity and respect. Transporting to appointments and community activities Requirements Able to work the 11 pm - 7 am shift Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of and experience working with individuals with intellectual disability Ability to perform patient monitoring, assist with ADLs, and utilize patient transfer methods safely. Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or medication administration are a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting, assist with manual handling tasks, and support patient transfers safely.
