Job Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Fort Smith area, where your compassion and energy will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with diverse needs. This role offers weekday afternoon and evening shifts, providing vital support to promote independence, safety, and well-being to individuals with diverse needs.

As a DSP, you will be an essential part of creating a positive, nurturing environment that empowers residents to thrive. Your proactive approach and caring attitude will help foster a community where everyone feels valued and supported. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including grooming and hygiene to promote dignity and independence. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing for changes, and reporting findings in accordance with care plans. Support medication administration and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to maintain confidentiality and safety. Assist with cooking and manage meal plans tailored to individual dietary needs. Use patient transfer methods like Hoyer lifts or manual handling techniques to ensure safe mobility for residents. Maintain a clean and safe environment by assisting our persons served in performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control protocols. Provide transportation assistance for appointments or community outings, ensuring resident safety at all times. Document observations, care activities, and communication with healthcare professionals accurately in resident records. Engage residents through meaningful activities that support cognitive function and social interaction in line with their care plans. Experience A high school diploma/GED, reliable transportation, valid driver's license and registration, auto insurance in applicant's name, electronic device with access to the internet, and ability to perform daily life skills are required. Lifting may be required for specific positions. This is a safety sensitive position, meaning the potential employee is responsible for the safety of others. The successful applicant must have the ability to understand and implement written plans of care and document services provided. A strong commitment to compassionate patient care combined with manual handling skills and the ability to assist with ADLs will ensure success as a DSP.
